Five ways researchers are using Zoopla data
1. Do buy-to-let investors pay more?
Researchers from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens analysed transaction and rental data to test whether mortgage buy-to-let investors purchase homes at different prices compared to other buyers.

2. Understanding coastal communities
Researchers from the University of Plymouth are combining WhenFresh/Zoopla data with AirDNA (coming soon) to explore research and policy needs in English coastal communities.
3. Energy efficiency and rental prices
Researchers at Imperial College London used rental data to examine how minimum energy efficiency standards affect residential rents in England and Wales.
You can read their paper in Energy Policy.
4. Where do young graduates live – and why?
Researchers from Cardiff University are using property transactions and rental data to study patterns in where young graduates settle, supporting housing regeneration policy.
5. Economic impacts of sewage discharges
Researchers at the London School of Economics are investigating how increased sewage discharges into UK waterways affect local economies, including tourism, amenities, ecology, and housing markets (using WhenFresh/Zoopla data).
